    NY STATE ANNUAL MEETING
    06/30/26 - QUEENS AREA LOCAL 1022 AMERICAN POSTAL WORKERS UNION
    Ron Suslak, Queens Area Local President, also serves as President of the APWU – New York State. APWU-NYS held its Constitutional Convention this year during the first week of May at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale Long Island. President Ron Suslak presided over the convention where seventeen (17) national officers attended the convention and addressed the delegates. This included National President Jonathan Smith. President Smith attended the entire convention and gave an inspiring talk to the convention delegates. The APWU-NYS Convention also marked new beginnings. Our own Queen Area Local VMF Shop Steward Jhevaughn Langley was elected APWU New York State Motor Vehicle Director. Hicksville Local President Courtney Service was elected the new Director of Organization; and Albany Local Vice President Kate Sagendorph was elected the new Legislative Director. All three of these new Officers are reaching out to all the locals in the state in furtherance of the mission of their position. At the ceremony swearing in all of the APWU-NYS Officers and Directors, special awards were presented by President Ron Suslak to Queens Area Local Executive Vice President Brian Porter, APWU-NYS Secretary Neysa Coleman and Brooklyn Local Representative Shanell Padmore for their untiring and exemplary service to the state organization.
