New Policy
10/03/26 - AFSCME Local 2650 I hear the topic on social media is the new surveillance policy, as it should be. We should be meeting with the employer next week to bargain the effects, just waiting for them to schedule it. An official grievance has been filed by our local, and I am sure all other locals also. |

10/02/26 - AFSCME Local 2650 I attached the policy that the employer wants to implement come 11/1/26. This is by far the most outrageous abuse of a policy I have ever seen. All unions are fighting this, and I will include a snip of it for those that cannot open it. We will be meeting about this next week, and will have a meeting to discuss it with unions . . .all of them. |

Molson Coors Workers Vote Teamsters; YES!
10/01/26 - Teamsters Local 776 On September 23, 2026, Local 776 sent our tractor-trailer to Elkton, VA, to support Teamsters Local 29 and the workers at Molson Coors. The employees were voting to become Teamsters. On Thursday, September 24th, the votes were counted, and approximately 60% of the brewery workers voted in favor of joining the union. |

10/01/26 - AFSCME Local 2650 1. Grievances — Keep up with those grievances. I submitted 4 more to arbitration today. It is a long, slow process, but it is what we need to do. The employer wants to deny everything (when they respond) so that is the route we need to take. 2. FMLA on Mandating — That arb case has been settled, and you will need to certify the hours actually needed for mandating. |

UHC Plan Design Changes in Effect
10/01/26 - BNSF General Committee Several plan design changes negotiated in the recent National Agreement take effect October 1, 2026. The monthly credit for employees who opt out of coverage will increase to $200. The plan will cover male sterilization procedures, and the survivor benefit will increase from four to six months. |

BNSF Service Now App
10/01/26 - BNSF General Committee As you have likely heard, BNSF is adding administrative hurdles to your tie-up procedures. They claim these new requirements comply with BRS Rule 12D which is not entirely true. The new procedures mandate accessing a “Service Now” app to answer questions and additionally require supervisor notification any time your tie up is for “other reasons”. |

BNSF Meal/Lodging Per Diem Enrollment
10/01/26 - BNSF General Committee Under the 2023 Meal Per Diem Agreement and the 2025 Lodging Per Diem Agreement, annual enrollment for eligible employees is open from November 1 through November 30. All signal crew positions and MCTs are eligible to participate. Employees who take no action during open enrollment will retain their current election. |

KCS Mediation Sessions
10/01/26 - BNSF General Committee We have now had three mediation sessions with the CPKC, facilitated by NMB Mediator Bjarne Henderson. Our first was held April 20-22 followed by a three-day session in Chicago from May 12-14, and yet another from July 6-8. During the lapse in meetings since our last session, the parties have exchanged proposals electronically on many of the outstanding issues. |

MRL Section 6 Townhall Meetings
10/01/26 - BNSF General Committee The current agreement covering MRL members is nearing expiration, with a final 3.5% wage increase scheduled for January 1, 2027. Before serving notice on the Carrier in early 2027 to amend the agreement, we are seeking member input on priorities for the next bargaining round. The non-operating coalition—BRS, BMWE, and IAM—will hold town hall meetings in October to gather that input. |
